Easter holidays Umrah packages let UK families and working pilgrims perform Umrah during the spring school break, without taking children out of school or using up a large chunk of annual leave. In 2027, Easter Sunday falls on 28 March, and most schools in England and Wales break up around Friday 26 March. Haram Zone Travel arranges 7, 12 and 15 night Easter Umrah packages with return flights from major UK airports, 3, 4 or 5 star hotels in Makkah and Madinah, ground transport and visa guidance. You can change the nights, hotels and departure airport to suit your family and budget.

Why UK Families Choose Umrah During the Easter Holidays
Easter is one of the few times in the year when the whole family is off at the same time. The school break usually runs for about two weeks, and Good Friday and Easter Monday are bank holidays in England and Wales, so working parents need fewer days of annual leave to cover a 12 or 15 night trip. In Scotland, Good Friday is a bank holiday but Easter Monday is not, and spring break dates are set by each council.
The weather is another reason. Late March and early April are hot in Makkah, with average daytime highs in the mid-to-high 30s °C, but this is far more manageable than June to August, when temperatures regularly pass 40°C. Night-time and early-morning Tawaf are noticeably more comfortable.
In 2027, Ramadan is expected to end around 9 or 10 March, depending on the moon sighting. That means Easter falls in the month of Shawwal, after the Ramadan peak has passed. Expect the Haram to be busy with families from the UK and Europe on the same school break, but generally less crowded than the last ten nights of Ramadan.
Easter 2027 Dates and the Saudi Umrah Season Deadlines
Easter 2027 runs from Good Friday 26 March to Easter Monday 29 March, and most UK school Easter holidays fall between late March and mid-April 2027. Check your own school or council term dates before you book, as they vary across England, Wales and Scotland.
There is one more set of dates to plan around. Each year, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stops issuing Umrah visas and sets a last entry date and a last departure date for Umrah pilgrims before the Hajj season begins. In 2026, these were 1 Shawwal (last visa issue), 15 Shawwal (last entry) and 1 Dhul Qadah (last departure). If the same pattern is used in 2027, these dates would fall in March and early April, which overlaps the Easter break.
What this means for you:
- British citizens can currently travel on the Saudi electronic travel authorisation (ETA) or tourist eVisa, which the UK government says can be used for Umrah outside the Hajj season. Other passport holders usually need an Umrah visa.
- The Ministry normally confirms the exact cut-off dates a few weeks before Ramadan. We check the official announcement before confirming your travel dates and will tell you plainly if your preferred return date needs to move.
- If you have flexibility, a shorter trip early in the Easter break, or leaving a few days before school breaks up, gives you more room around the deadlines.
Our Easter Holidays Umrah Packages: 3, 4 and 5 Star Options
Every Easter Umrah package splits your stay between Makkah and Madinah. Prices below are per person and are the current starting prices for shared rooms. Final prices depend on flight availability and hotel rates on your chosen dates. [VERIFY all prices before publishing. The current site shows 4 star 15 nights (£715) cheaper than 3 star 15 nights (£770), which looks like an error.]
Hotel level | 7 nights (4 Makkah / 3 Madinah) | 12 nights (6 / 6) | 15 nights (8 / 7) |
3 star | From £598 | From £650 | From £715 |
4 star | From £650 | From £700 | From £770 |
5 star | From £710 | From £798 | From £830 |
3 star Easter Umrah packages
Our most affordable Easter option. Hotels are clean and practical, usually a longer walk or a short shuttle from the Haram. A good choice for younger, mobile pilgrims who want to keep costs down.
4 star Easter Umrah packages
A balance of comfort and price, typically closer to the Haram with better rooms and breakfast at many hotels. Popular with families who want less walking with children.
5 star Easter Umrah packages
Hotels close to or overlooking the Haram, which makes a real difference in the heat and for elderly parents. 5 star rooms sell first during the school holidays, so these are worth arranging early.
Choosing between 7, 12 and 15 nights
- 7 nights suits working professionals who can only take a week, or anyone travelling in a tight window around the Saudi deadlines.
- 12 nights gives six nights in each city and fits comfortably inside a two-week school break, with a day or two at home either side.
- 15 nights gives the most time for worship and rest, and is closest to what most people mean by an Easter 2 weeks Umrah package. Check the return date against the 2027 Saudi deadlines above.
If you were looking for a 10 night or 14 nights Easter Umrah, we can build either as a tailored trip. Tell us your dates and we will quote it.
If the Easter dates don’t work for you, our affordable Umrah packages from the UK cover departures throughout the year.

Cheap Easter Umrah Packages: What Affects the Price
Easter is a peak period because thousands of UK families want the same dates. You can still find a cheap Easter Umrah package if you understand what pushes the price up.
- Hotel distance from the Haram. This is the biggest single cost. A few hundred metres further away can save a meaningful amount per person.
- Your travel dates. The first weekend of the school break is usually the most expensive. Travelling a few days later, or returning mid-week, often helps.
- Departure airport and flight type. Direct flights cost more than connecting flights through a Gulf or European hub.
- Room sharing. Quad and triple rooms cost less per person than double rooms, which works well for families.
- When you book. Flights and Haram-facing rooms for Easter fill up early, and late bookings usually mean higher fares.
- Package length. Longer stays cost more overall but often less per night.
Our team will show you two or three options at different price points so you can compare like for like.
Easter Umrah Flights from London, Manchester, Birmingham and Other UK Airports
You can start your Easter Umrah from:
- London: Heathrow and Gatwick
- Manchester: Manchester Airport
- Birmingham: Birmingham Airport. See our Umrah packages from Birmingham for year-round departures.
- Yorkshire: Leeds Bradford Airport. See our Umrah packages from Bradford.
- Scotland: Glasgow and Edinburgh
Direct flights to Jeddah are usually available from London Heathrow and Manchester, while most regional airports connect through hubs such as Istanbul, Doha, Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Most packages fly into Jeddah and out of Madinah, or the other way round, so you don’t have to double back.
Family Easter Umrah from the UK
Easter is the natural choice for a family Umrah because children are already off school. A few practical points make the trip easier:
- Every child needs their own passport, visa or ETA, and Umrah permit. Infants are included.
- Buggies are not allowed on the ground floor of the Mataf (the Tawaf area). A soft baby carrier or sling is easier for Tawaf and Sa’i.
- Child ID wristbands are available at the Grand Mosque. Also put a card in your child’s pocket with your name, hotel and phone number.
- Plan around the heat. Do Tawaf after Fajr or late in the evening, and rest in the hotel in the afternoon.
- Choose a hotel close to the Haram so younger children can go back for naps.
We can arrange family rooms and triple or quad sharing. For more on travelling with children, see our Umrah package for family page.
Easter Umrah for Elderly Parents and Pilgrims with Limited Mobility
If you are travelling with elderly parents, hotel distance matters more than star rating. We can:
- Prioritise hotels close to the Haram in both cities
- Request wheelchair assistance with the airline at the UK airport and on arrival
- Arrange private transfers instead of shared coaches
- Suggest a longer stay so the rituals can be spread out with rest days
Wheelchairs and electric carts are available at the Grand Mosque for Tawaf and Sa’i and our team can explain how to use them.
Visa, Documents and Health Requirements for UK Pilgrims
British citizens can currently enter Saudi Arabia for Umrah outside the Hajj season using the Saudi electronic travel authorisation (ETA), tourist eVisa or electronic visa waiver, according to UK government travel advice. Pilgrims with other passports, including UK residents who aren’t British citizens, usually need an Umrah visa arranged through an authorised provider or the Nusuk platform. Visa rules are set by the Saudi authorities and can change at short notice, so we check them again when you book.
What you will need:
- Passport valid for at least six months from your arrival date
- Visa, ETA or visa waiver suitable for your nationality
- Meningococcal ACWY vaccination certificate. The Saudi authorities require this for Umrah pilgrims. Book it with a travel clinic or pharmacy at least 10 days before you fly.
- Umrah permit through the Nusuk app, which you need before performing Umrah at Masjid al-Haram
- Travel insurance (the tourist eVisa includes basic health cover; the ETA does not)
We guide you through each step, but visa decisions are made by the Saudi authorities and approval cannot be guaranteed. For the latest rules, check UK government travel advice for Saudi Arabia and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
